Players adjust settings like ghost piece visibility, speed curve preferences, and hold function toggles. The game uses standard rule sets with IRS and IHS systems but rotates pieces on the first frame rather than pre-rotating them. This changes how players manage block out scenarios. A 9-digit seed input lets you control piece sequences or randomize them entirely. The seed system adds replayability while the frame-based rotation creates a sharper tactical challenge. Community playtests note the balance between retro simplicity and modern tweaks like speed curve options. With 15 years of FPGA hardware experience behind its design ModRetro’s version sticks to core mechanics while offering deeper customization than most handheld ports.
