The Adventures of Batman & Robin is a co-op beat ‘em up with shooter and platforming elements for the Sega Genesis. Play as Batman or Robin, each armed with batarangs, bolas, and close-range brawling moves, as you tackle Gotham’s villains. Mr Freeze sets off chaos, freeing Joker, Two-Face, and the Mad Hatter for their own schemes. Progress through four levels mixing side-scrolling combat with Batwing sections where you dodge missiles and blast enemies mid-air. Both characters play identically, making local co-op a straightforward tag-team affair with minimal variation. The game earns praise for its sharp visual effects and Jesper Kyd’s energetic soundtrack, both standout technical feats on the Genesis. But be warned, its difficulty curve is steep. Boss fights are punishing, and the lack of checkpoints adds frustration.
