The Amazing Spider-Man Lethal Foes is a side scrolling beat em up where players control Spider-Man through stages filled with goons and obstacles. Each level features a mix of hand to hand combat and quick time moves using web slinging and acrobatics. The game follows a straightforward structure of fighting waves of enemies while progressing toward boss encounters. Simple controls and fast pacing keep the action tight though the stages themselves offer little beyond basic repetition. The game borrows several villains from the Spider-Man roster including Doctor Octopus and Green Goblin but adapts them into a new storyline separate from the 1993 comic series it shares a name with. While the Super Famicom version lacks the polish of later Spider-Man titles it remains a decent entry for fans of 90s beat em ups.
