About

You wake up stuck in a lab with no memory of how you got there. The Day I Died tasks you with exploring this confined space to piece together the story of your final day alive. Solve environmental puzzles to unlock areas and scavenge tools while fending off zombie attacks in close quarters. The gameplay loops between investigation and survival, sometimes you’ll spend minutes tinkering with machinery, other times dodging lunging undead. Difficulty sliders let you tweak combat intensity and puzzle complexity to match your patience. The game’s strongest trait is its atmospheric tension. Creeping sounds and flickering lights keep you alert even during quiet moments. Community reviews on Steam average 72/100, with praise for the moody setting and branching challenge levels. At roughly two to three hours long, it’s a bite-sized experience that leans into mystery more than action. The zombie encounters feel more like obstacles than core gameplay, which works for players wanting a cerebral adventure with occasional bursts of panic.

Storyline

The Day I Died is a first-person storytelling game with light puzzle and zombie melee fight elements. Your goal is to find a way out of the lab where you have been trapped. The game is about to experience a story, the last day alive of the protagonist (you), via discovering the play area, solving puzzles on the way and having a few fights versus zombies. You can level both combats and puzzles based on your preference, make them easy or more challenging.
