The Devil is in the Details drops you into a shifting hellhouse where every room feels like a puzzle and every shadow hides danger. As a first-person survival game, you scavenge talismans to purify cursed objects while fending off traps, demons, and the devil’s cruel surprises. Resources are scarce and the layout changes between runs, turning exploration into a high-stakes gamble. You’ll memorize patterns, manage fear, and hope the next corner doesn’t drop you into a new nightmare. What grabs attention is how it twists escape-room logic into a tense, unpredictable grind. The procedural design ensures backtracking never feels repetitive, and the blend of environmental puzzles with sudden horror attacks keeps pressure constant. HideWorks leans into the chaos, letting the devil’s pranks dictate the tone, like a haunted house that rewrites its own rules. Out on PC and PS5 September 30, it’s a 10-15 hour gauntlet for players who thrive on adapting to the unrelentingly unfair.
The Devil is in the Details, is an Anomaly detection -meets- Escape Room - meets Survival Horror hybrid, played from a first-person perspective. You find yourself trapped in a hellish mansion. Each step forward is a gamble in this ever-changing nightmare, where no two playthroughs are alike. Explore and investigate your surroundings and try to beat the devil at his own game, by placing talismans on cursed objects, while trying to survive with limited resources against the many deadly traps and foes that lurk in the shadows, as well as having to deal with the pranks demons and the devil throw at you.
