The Devil's Eight is a single player platformer where you fight through eight hellish stages. Stripped of offensive abilities, you rely on a shield to deflect enemy attacks. Each boss demands studying movement patterns and timing reflections to progress. The game emphasizes defensive play and pattern recognition over direct offense. Each world is driven by a distinct electronic soundtrack that shapes the environment's rhythm and pacing. Abstract, psychedelic visuals shift with the music creating a surreal atmosphere. The challenge is steep with narrow margins for error but players praise the clever use of sound and the sense of accomplishment. Available on PC Mac and Linux since late 2018.
