The Eliminator is a fast paced horizontal shooter where you steer a ship through waves of enemies across a scrolling screen. Players trade fire with UFOs and bosses while dodging obstacles and managing limited lives. The single player mode offers straightforward action but the two player option is where it shines, letting friends take turns or battle head to head. Simple controls and tight shooting mechanics make it easy to pick up but the relentless difficulty keeps things challenging. Released in 1981, this was one of the earliest home computer ports of an arcade hit. Adventure International's version maintained the core Defender DNA while adapting it for 8 bit systems.
