The Gap is a first-person horror game set inside a dilapidated house that feels completely empty until it doesn’t. You wander through crumbling hallways and dusty rooms as creaks and whispers hint at something lurking just out of view. The tension comes from silence breaking into sudden noise, shadows shifting when you aren’t looking, and the slow realization that the house is alive in ways it shouldn’t be. Minimal dialogue means the fear is visual and auditory, built on what you see and hear rather than what you’re told. The game’s strength lies in its atmosphere and pacing. Players report spending more time holding their breath than moving forward, which says a lot about how effectively it builds unease. Though brief, the experience sticks around after the screen goes dark. Most who finish it talk about the lingering sense of being watched, even when the game is closed.
