About

The Godkiller: Chapter 1 is a puzzle adventure built around clever spatial challenges and a quirky afterlife narrative. You play as Emm, a recently deceased soul navigating a bureaucratic purgatory while defying divine instructions. The gameplay revolves around turn-based block-pushing puzzles with a dark twist, sometimes you have to die to reset the board and gain an advantage. Each level feels like a logic problem wrapped in a surreal story about cosmic rules and rebellion. Created by Deadly Rooms of Death designer Erik Hermansen, the game leans into tight mechanics and dry humor. Puzzles escalate from simple Sokoban-style tasks to sequences involving ghostly assistants and shifting level layouts. The story threads about lost souls and divine bureaucracy add oddball charm, paired with original songs that blend synth and acoustic tones. With 120 levels in this first chapter, it’s a brainy romp for players who enjoy thinking before moving.

Storyline

The newly-dead Emm finds herself in Paradise being told stories by God. God instructs Emm not to take the Apple of Infinite Travel. Emm quickly gives in to boredom and temptation, takes the Apple, and is cast out of Paradise. Emm must now climb upwards to All-Blocks Plateau, where other souls push blocks all day in peace. On her way, she learns about the afterlife and the lost souls who inhabit it, while God pits her against the bitter and scared bureaucrat Billy.
