About The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy

Too Kyo Games returns with The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy. This title drops you into a grim scenario where fifteen students must defend their school from monsters for one hundred days. Released in April 2025, the game hits both PC and Nintendo Switch. You play as Takumi Sumino, an average teen who gains strange powers after a monster attack forces him to stab himself. He then joins a special unit inside a walled academy surrounded by flames. The story asks how far you will go to survive and uncover the truth behind the invasion. It blends high stakes survival with character drama in a way only this developer can manage.

Gameplay

Sessions focus on managing resources and making tough choices while battling grotesque invaders. You spend your time between combat rounds investigating the school, talking to classmates, and planning defenses against wave after wave of enemies. The combat feels tactical rather than action-heavy, requiring you to position characters and use their specific abilities wisely. Daily life simulation elements let you build relationships or uncover secrets hidden in dorm rooms. Every decision impacts morale and survival rates during the hundred-day cycle. The control scheme stays simple for quick menu navigation while battles demand attention to detail. You will spend most of your time balancing immediate threats with long term strategy.

What Players Think

Critics and players have reacted strongly to this release. The IGDB shows a solid score of 81.1 out of 100 based on twenty-one ratings. PlayPile data indicates the average playtime sits around forty hours for those who finish the main story. Completion rates suggest many users struggle with the harder difficulty spikes in later days. Community moods range from excited to frustrated as players debate the fairness of certain monster encounters. Review snippets frequently mention the intense pressure of the timer and the emotional weight of character deaths. Some users report spending over fifty hours chasing 100% achievement completion. The consensus is that the game demands patience but rewards persistence with a satisfying narrative payoff.

PlayPile's Take

This title suits fans of heavy strategy games who do not mind losing progress to make difficult choices. The price reflects its scope as a full single-player experience on Switch and PC. You will earn numerous achievements for unlocking all story paths and surviving every day without failure. The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy is worth your time if you enjoy tense survival scenarios with strong writing. Players who prefer fast action or casual gameplay should skip this one. The final outcome depends entirely on how well you manage your team before the hundredth day arrives.

Storyline

Takumi Sumino is a totally average teenager living in the Tokyo Residential Complex, a place where every day is much like the last and nothing bad ever happens. All that changes when freakish monsters attack the town and start wreaking havoc. A strange creature calling himself Sirei appears and offers Takumi the power to protect those he holds dear... All he has to do is stab himself in the chest! The next thing he knows, Takumi is in Last Defense Academy, a school in the middle of nowhere surrounded by a wall of otherworldly flames. He and 14 other students have been drafted into the Special Defense Unit, a team tasked with keeping the school safe for the next 100 days. How much are they willing to sacrifice to take back their normal lives and save the world from the grotesque school invaders? The curtain rises on 100 days of war and despair...
