Smash through hordes of foes as the Hulk wields nothing but raw strength in this 1997 beat 'em up. Barge forward punching, kicking, and crushing enemies while metering out gamma energy for moves like spinning whirlwinds and ground-pounding haymakers. Scattered power-ups let you call in help from four mythic allies during chaotic battles. Simple controls focus on straightforward brawling with occasional platform-hopping to navigate levels. The game leans into comic-accurate villains like Piecemeal and the U-Foes while Hulk’s healing factor keeps him in the fight. Though basic by modern standards the physics of fists meeting flesh and the thrill of summoning backup hits still land. A relic of early 3D brawlers it maintains a cult following for its no-frills approach to green glee.
Most levels include at least one arch-enemy, such as Piecemeal, Trauma & Lazarus or the U-Foes. Luckily, the Hulk’s regenerative powers allow him to regain health slowly. Little seems to be left of the Hulk’s legendary leaping capacity, however, so the green meat ball is forced to hop from platform to platform every now and then.
