The Intruder is a text-based game that weaves simple challenges into a story by Jorge Luis Borges. Players complete basic tasks to unlock parts of the narrative which unfolds through text and visuals. The whole experience takes about 15 minutes with the games serving more as a storytelling device than a test of skill. Progressing through the story requires solving minor puzzles or clicking through sequences that feel more like ritual than effort. What stands out is how the gameplay enhances the story without getting in the way. The minimal challenges create participation that deepens the experience. Though short it’s a tight package that’s still discussed in retro indie circles for its clever structure. A brief experience that lingers longer than its runtime suggests.
