The Karate Kid Part II is a straightforward 1v1 brawler built around punchy, arcade-style combat. It pits players against an opponent in quick-fire matches using simple but responsive controls, reflecting the punchy, no-nonsense nature of the film it's based on. The Amiga and Atari ST/STE versions offer pixel-art fighters with moves that range from jabs to roundhouse kicks. Single-player mode challenges you against the AI, while local multiplayer lets two players square off. The game sticks to the basics, no combos, no special moves, just raw, back-and-forth brawling. What stands out is its place as one of the earliest fighting games to arrive after the genre's arcade peak. While it lacks the polish of later 90s classics, it feels more like a retro curiosity than a dated relic. The movie tie-in gives it a nostalgic hook, and the competitive multiplayer remains a solid test of reflexes. Some forums still count it among the most unfairly overlooked brawlers of the 80s. Its simplicity and charm haven't aged much, if at all.
