The King of Fighters Extreme brings the 2D brawler series to mobile with 21 fighters and multiple modes. Play solo against CPU or challenge another N-Gage user via Bluetooth. Each match lets you pick three characters who rotate in and out after defeats. Land hits to build a meter for flashy "max" attacks and use a button press to briefly summon backup fighters during fights. The 12-key layout maps basic moves to buttons but lacks the arcade version's polish. This port prioritizes core mechanics over visuals. Backgrounds are static and sprites smaller than console releases with black bars stretching the screen. Still it retains key KOF elements like character-specific martial arts styles and adjustable controls mid-battle. Story mode tasks you with climbing ladders to face bosses using your trio of brawlers. With practice survival and versus options it offers solid replay value despite 2005-era graphics. The Bluetooth mode and 21 fighters make it a portable fighting fix for series fans.
