You play as a gladiator fighting through eight arena stages, each with a new weapon. Take down monsters with a pistol, club, pitchfork, spear, or boomerang as you progress. The simplicity of the controls and fast paced action make it easy to pick up but tough to master. Each level shifts the challenge, keeping you adapting your strategy. Released in 1983, this early EA title runs on Apple II and Commodore systems. While the pixel art and chiptune sounds are unavoidably dated, the straightforward combat loops still hold up for quick play sessions. The single player format and lack of modern conveniences mean this one appeals mostly to retro gaming enthusiasts. With each weapon having distinct handling, the variety helps the short campaign feel longer than it is.
