The Last Revenant is a sci-fi platformer set on a desolate moon in the distant future. You play as Sombre, a stranded figure trying to survive by upgrading a Hookshot to navigate crumbling facilities and reach a distant satellite. The game blends fast movement with puzzle-solving as you collect resources to extend your range and access new areas. A haunting story unfolds through scattered logs, hinting at a colony’s mysterious fate. What stands out is the eerie atmosphere and tight mechanics. The Hookshot feels responsive, letting you grapple across gaps and pull down objects. Sparse but unsettling details, like abandoned labs and distorted echoes, build tension without over-explaining. At just a few hours, it packs a concise but memorable experience. Community feedback from its jam origins points to strong design despite its short length.
Over 1200 years into the future, the last of a series of faulty cryosleep pods finally collapses open on a faraway lunar outpost. Sombre, a poor soul with little left of their original form, is serving their sentence on a barren moon with no way to call for help. The only possibility of survival lies in an abandoned comms satellite located in low orbit, which they can only reach by collecting items to survive the harsh journey across and beyond the facility. Entrusted with a spare Hookshot, Sombre will have to try and upgrade this tool to cling to salvation. But what happened to the rest of the research colony, and their bodies..?
