The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes follows Link as he navigates a world where style clashes with magic. Set in the fashion-obsessed kingdom of Hytopia, the game tasks players with guiding up to three Links through dungeons and puzzles. Single-player mode uses doll-sized versions of Link that can be swapped mid-level to tackle obstacles, while co-op lets real players work together. Combat and exploration rely on coordination, enemies and traps often require multiple Links to defeat or bypass. The game leans into its puzzle-box design, with levels built around teamwork and precise timing. The quirky setting and co-op focus make it stand out among Zelda entries. Released in 2015 for 3DS, it features a lighthearted story about a witch’s fashion curse and a cast of oddball characters. While reviews were mixed, its inventive level design and accessibility earned praise from some fans. The emphasis on local multiplayer remains a strong point, offering a hands-on experience that’s rare in modern games.
The story takes place in Hytopia, a kingdom whose citizens are obsessed with fashion. The princess of the kingdom Styla is adored by all except the witch Lady Maud who despises the princess' fashion sense. She decides to put a curse on her that forces her to wear a hideous jumpsuit at all times. As a result, the citizens are afraid to show their own fashion sense fearing that the witch will curse them too. To solve this problem, king Tuft calls for a hero who can lift the curse. Link, answering the king's call, travels to the castle to fight alongside other heroes to defeat the witch and bring peace to Hytopia.
