You play a frontier hero chasing down the villain who destroyed your family and snatched the President. The game mixes side-scrolling action with first-person 3D gunfights, as you sprint through towns, leap over obstacles, and blast enemies from a cowboy’s horseback. Each level throws new hazards your way, collapsing bridges, stampeding cattle, and shootouts in pixelated saloons. You swap between third-person platforming and first-person aiming, which was pretty bold for 1991. The standout is the way it shifts perspectives so abruptly, blending genres before it was common. The 3D stages feel blocky by today’s standards but were a novelty at the time. It’s not the most refined game, some stages are brutally hard, but it’s a wild ride through Western chaos. A relic of early 90s experimentation, it holds up for fans of retro action games with a clear lack of mercy.
