Three Vikings crash-land across chaotic time periods after an alien abduction. You control Erik, Baleog, and Olaf simultaneously as they navigate platforming hazards and solve puzzles. Each character has distinct skills: Erik’s speed and helmet bashes, Baleog’s ranged attacks, and Olaf’s shield-based defenses and gliding. Progress relies on switching between them to overcome environmental challenges. Levels mix medieval castles, futuristic cities, and ancient ruins, all tied together by a goofy sci-fi plot. Released in 1993 by the team that became Blizzard, it pioneered cooperative play with a forgiving retry system, losing one Viking doesn’t reset progress. The game’s reputation has grown over time, praised for its clever level design and seamless teamwork mechanics. It later resurfaced in 2015 as a hero in Heroes of the Storm, letting players wield Viking abilities in a new context. Nostalgia and replay value keep it relevant among retro fans.

Storyline

The three Vikings gets kidnapped by Tomator, emperor of the alien Croutonian empire, for an inter-galactic zoo and becomes lost in various periods of time. After escaping through the airlock of the spaceship, they must traverse various bizarre locations to find their way back home.
