You wake up in a cold, stone cell with no memory of how you got there. The Nefargad casts you as Mert, an archaeologist trapped in a labyrinthine dungeon. Your only tools are your wits and cryptic notes left by past prisoners. Each puzzle you solve to unlock doors and machinery feels like piecing together a sinister history. The first-person perspective makes every creak and shadow seem threatening as you piece together why you were taken. The game's strength lies in its oppressive atmosphere and cleverly layered puzzles. What starts as straightforward escape challenges slowly introduces doubt, are those notes reliable or designed to mislead? With a 92% positive rating on Steam, players praise the gradual build of tension and the way environmental storytelling reveals the dungeon’s dark past. Launched in late 2023, it’s a taut, 8-hour experience that lingers long after you escape. Plays best with lights on.
You've been abducted completely defenseless from your home and brought to a dungeon. You have no idea who did this to you or why. You must find your way out of this dungeon, where you were forcibly brought, by solving puzzles. Luckily, there have been others before you who came into this dungeon to explore it. They have previously solved the mysteries you now have to solve, and left notes about the solutions. With these notes, you can progress more efficiently. Thanks to the left messages, you will also learn about what happened here before you, but you are determined not to trust anyone.
