The Night of Joe is a tense action-horror game where you play a job candidate trapped in a deserted supermarket after dark. Armed with a mysterious flashlight, you navigate aisles and storage rooms while avoiding a relentless monster that stalks you through the building. Your goal is to locate and activate hidden escalators to escape, all while managing limited resources and using the flashlight to reveal threats or temporarily blind your pursuer. Movement feels deliberate, with sound and light shaping the chase as much as your decisions. The claustrophobic setting and sudden bursts of action stand out, with players noting the flashlight mechanic adds a clever layer of strategy. Some find the monster encounters frustratingly tough, but the tight pacing and eerie atmosphere keep the tension high. Clocking in at around two hours, it’s a short but punchy experience that leans heavily into jump scares and environmental storytelling through scattered notes and distorted audio logs.

Storyline

You have been so nervous, holding your CV in your hand for a job you need but don’t really see yourself doing. After the interview (that went horrible) you went to the bathroom to "refresh", and you ended up falling asleep...When you woke up you still had this weird dream in your mind about a guy in the clouds telling you to be careful and giving you something...was it a flashlight? Strangely you realize that it's already night time and you're alone in the supermarket. You're holding the flashlight in your hand, thinking that you are still dreaming but it is reality. Something strange is going on here... While walking between the shelves looking for an exit you realize that you are not alone, something in the Night is hunting you. Armed with your special flashlight, will you have what it takes to get out of the building?
