The Perplexing Orb throws you into a world of floating platforms and tricky jumps. You control a character navigating shifting environments where gravity and physics often play tricks. Each level is a puzzle box requiring timing, reflexes, and trial-and-error. The game’s minimalist art style lets the chaos of the action take center stage. Short levels keep things brisk but some sections demand pixel-perfect precision. Players often get stuck on specific jumps or puzzle sequences which can feel more frustrating than satisfying. The lack of checkpoints in later levels adds pressure but some appreciate the challenge. While not packed with content at 8 hours average playtime the game’s tight controls and inventive level design earn it a 7.2/10 on Metacritic. The Wii U version had the most polished touch screen features for precise inputs.
