About

The Plague is a short adventure game set in a high school overtaken by the undead. You play as Renn, a student who wakes up to find classmates turned into zombies and teams up with a few survivors to piece together what happened. The game focuses on navigating the crumbling school, avoiding threats, and exchanging dialogue with companions to uncover the outbreak’s cause. Combat is minimal, with survival hinging on stealth and quick decisions. The pace is brisk, with most playthroughs wrapping up in under two hours. Despite its abrupt development cancellation in 2013, the game has a small cult following for its eerie atmosphere and unresolved story beats. The school setting feels claustrophobic, with hallways teeming with moaning zombies and cryptic environmental clues. Some players call it a missed opportunity, but others appreciate its raw, unfinished vibe. With a 62% rating on Metacritic, it’s a niche pick for fans of survival mysteries that lean into ambiguity. The lack of polish shows, but the tense exploration and tight dialogue moments keep it memorable.
