The console port adds split-screen co-op for two players to share a Sim’s world. Simple controls and streamlined systems make it accessible for newcomers while retaining the core loop of micromanaging needs and social interactions. This 2003 release brought expansion pack content from the PC series to consoles for the first time including dating mechanics and celebrity pursuits. Early reviews praised the portability of splitting screen but some found the mission structure repetitive compared to the open-ended original.
