The Sundew casts you as Anna Isobe a cyborg cop tangled in a crumbling world of conspiracy and decay. Navigate rain soaked streets and flickering neon corridors using point and click mechanics to solve puzzles and figure out branching choices. Every decision ripples through the story’s dark underbelly as you piece together a fractured future. Dialogue trees and environmental clues drive the narrative forward in a style reminiscent of classic adventure games with a cyberpunk twist. Set in the rain drenched capital of Shibukawa the game leans into its moody atmosphere with tight writing and synthwave aesthetics. Players have unlocked 42% of its 25 achievements on average suggesting a mix of accessibility and hidden depth. The Switch port makes it easy to carry the dystopia with you but the Linux PC version proves it’s built for flexibility. While not a genre reinvention The Sundew delivers a brisk 10 to 15 hour story with enough moral gray areas to linger over.

Storyline

Shibukawa, capital of Japan, 2054. Water drips from the cracked ceiling onto the edge of your bed as the incessant rain masks the whine of a refrigerator and the neon hum of the city outside. You don’t recognise the heavy breath in your ear nor the warmth of the body lying next to you... The world’s gone to hell, and it’s taking you down with it.
