About

The Tale of Two Nekos is a 2D role-playing game split across three distinct story paths. Play as Dante, a man figuring out his fractured family history while navigating a world where his relatives lead a corrupt regime. Each tale, Dante’s, Akari’s, and a combined Final Tale, offers branching choices that shape outcomes. Combat uses a turn-based system with mechanics echoing early JRPGs, blending familiar strategy with quirky twists. The game runs on PC and Linux, focusing on single-player storytelling. What sets it apart is its layered narrative, where secrets about bloodlines and betrayal unfold through nonlinear paths. Developer Patrick De La Cruz weaves a mystery around parental identities and hidden motives, letting players piece together lore through dialogue and environmental clues. While the art style and pacing lean niche, fans of branching narratives and character-driven quests might find its three tales satisfying for repeat playthroughs.

Storyline

Family... that is how we live, and expand. Everyone has family... well, not everyone... What would you do, if your family were leaders of an evil empire? would you stop them? Male Protagonist: Dante Sandro and Goddess of the world: Nicole Sandro... they were born by their single biological mother but raised by their step-family... Who was their mother? what happened for the two to be separated? This is something only Dante will discover, with some help, and hints. Will he be able to reunite with his mother? will he bring the family back? or will there be something else he isn't supposed to know about? something far too sinister?
