About

This 1992 NES game tasks you with playing Kyle Reese as he fights through a dystopian future and 1980s Los Angeles. The action bounces between side-scrolling levels where you dodge enemies and shoot targets, plus tense car chases where you weave through traffic while avoiding the Terminator’s relentless pursuit. Each level ties to key moments from the film like the police station showdown and the factory finale. Controls are basic but functional for the era, with a focus on quick reflexes and timing. The game’s structure mirrors the movie’s pacing, blending platformer challenges with mini-racing segments. While the graphics and sound are simple by today’s standards, the direct adaptation of iconic scenes gives it a nostalgic edge. It holds up as a straightforward, no-frills take on the source material. Some players note the difficulty spikes during chases, but the retro charm and faithful level design keep it engaging for short sessions.

Storyline

The game begins in the future, where the hero Kyle Reese must battle through a post-apocalyptic future in order to go back in time to 1984 Los Angeles. Once there, he must progress through various checkpoints as outlined by the main movie plot: find Sarah Connor, shootout at the police station, and the climax in the factory.
