The environment itself is a threat, radiation zones force you to pace movements carefully. You can run missions on foot, blast through enemies in a jeep, or soar above the chaos in a helicopter. The first-person perspective keeps the tension tight as you navigate crumbling cities and industrial ruins. Made in 1995 by Bethesda, the game feels like a relic of early FPS design. Its blocky graphics and clunky physics can’t mask the urgency of its scenario, though. The mix of combat and survival mechanics, like managing radiation exposure while fending off enemies, still feels fresh for fans of retro shooters.
