The Train Station casts you as a lone stationmaster stuck in a decaying 1940s English rail yard during a thick fog. Your tasks are routine but unsettling: retrieve stray luggage, scrub stalls, and answer the ticket booth bell whenever it rings. But the longer you work, the more the station feels alive with quiet dread. Paperwork and chores fill your time, but every creak and flickering light hints at something lurking just beyond the fog. The tension comes from balancing mundane responsibilities against the growing sense that you're not alone. Built entirely by one developer, the game leans into claustrophobic atmosphere and subtle horror. The 1940s setting feels weathered but detailed, with flickering bulbs and damp walls adding to the unease. While there's no combat or jump scares, the slow build of tension and eerie silence make for a memorable short experience. Out September 20 on PC and Windows Mixed Reality.
