The Transformers drops you into a chaotic battle for Earth as one of five Autobots. Your mission collect four Energon Cube fragments while evading Decepticons who want them for themselves. Switch between robot and vehicle forms to navigate platforms, walking or flying in robot mode, driving in car/aircraft mode. Each Autobot has distinct abilities and shields that drain from enemy fire. When all four cubes are secured, you restart with tougher enemies and faster action. Losing all Autobots means another try. The game stands out for its dual-form combat and escalating difficulty. Early levels feel manageable but later waves of Decepticons turn simple platforming into frantic dodging. The ability to switch between Autobots mid-run adds strategy since each handles differently. Running on Commodore 64 and Spectrum, it balances retro pixel art with surprisingly tight controls for 1985. While short on story, the pure action loop keeps it addictive for fans of old-school arcade challenges.
