The Yakutsu Noroi Game is a PlayStation horror visual novel that follows two childhood friends, Misuzu and Shogo, who work part-time at a game studio. After finishing a project praised by their boss, they face sudden backlash from a critic and the boss’s mysterious disappearance. Strange occurrences follow, including calls from the dead, pulling them into a story where reality blurs with dread. Players navigate dialogue choices and static scenes to uncover secrets tied to their past and the eerie forces haunting them. This 1997 title leans into workplace drama, occult themes, and slow-burn tension. Its unresolved mysteries and abrupt shifts between mundane office life and supernatural horror create a distinct, unsettling vibe. As a sequel to Yuujou Dangi, it assumes familiarity with prior lore but delivers enough atmospheric creepiness to stand on its own. The minimalist presentation and abrupt endings reflect early PlayStation era quirks, appealing to fans of niche J-horror and forgotten games.
High school students, Misuzu and Shogo, who have been friends from early in their childhood, starts a part-time job at a game company. After awfully busy days, the game development is completed and the title that was produced was a game which the company president also had confidence. But a very unfavorable assessment comes from a game magazine publisher that reviews the game. Almost at the same time, the company president disappears. Then he meets a mysterious death. While passing each day with an indescribable sense of unease, Misuzu receives a phone call from the deceased. In an unconventional adventure in the manner of PlayStation software "YAKU" a world with new fears is brought forth.
