Throne Quest Deluxe throws you into a gritty open world where you play as one of 12 character classes. Each class brings its own playstyle whether you're hacking with axes casting fire spells or plucking a harp to unleash magic. The combat feels brisk and responsive letting you switch between abilities mid-fight while hunting monsters looting gear and chugging potions to power up. Your goal is to push through large dungeons and treacherous terrain toward a central castle where a demonic overlord hoards the throne you’re after. Valorware’s take on the ARPG formula offers a straightforward but punchy experience with 12 distinct classes and a roster of weapons that includes surprisingly deadly guitars. Released in late 2018 the game runs on PlayStation 4 PC and Switch letting you tackle its single-player campaign from almost any living room. While it lacks multiplayer or major updates since launch its mix of fast combat and loot grinding still appeals to fans of no-frills dungeon crawlers. The Switch port in particular makes it a solid pick for on-the-go sessions.
