Timmy the Dream Hunter is a point-and-click puzzle game built around a gentle story about conquering fear. Players guide Timmy through 15 illustrated scenes where narration sets up each chapter. Clicking objects or characters triggers animated responses and leads to mini challenges like aligning goblin limbs or connecting star patterns. The gameplay loops between story moments and bite-sized puzzles that rarely take more than a minute each. The game’s charm comes from its quiet narrative about a boy and a lonely monster who can’t escape his own dreams. Developer Compedia Software & Hardware Ltd. designed it as an interactive bedtime story with minimal text, making it accessible to younger audiences. Though largely forgotten since its 1996 release, its mix of whimsy and problem solving still appeals to fans of old-school point-and-click experiments. The mini games feel quaint by modern standards but fit the low-stakes tone perfectly.
A monster keeps appearing in Timmy's dreams, and chasing him. Timmy asks for help from his dad, and Dad sets up a trap for Timmy to catch the monster. Timmy catches the monster that night, and the monster is embarrassed. He introduces himself as Timms, and explains that he was chasing Timmy because he was afraid he would be forgotten by Timmy and disappear, since he can't go to other people's dreams. Timmy requests Timms that from now on, he should only show him part of his body in each dream so Timmy can slowly get used to him and see he is not so scary. The next morning, Timmy discovers small blue marks on the trap which belong to Timms.
