Titanic is a DOS-era underwater adventure where you pilot a diving suit to explore the wreck of the ill-fated ship. You navigate treacherous seas, managing a shrinking oxygen meter while fending off attacks from sharks, octopuses, and other deep-sea threats. The game splits into two stages: reaching the Titanic's location and then navigating its interior to locate and crack open a secure safe. Combat revolves around limited harpoon shots, requiring careful timing to avoid depleting your air supply. The environment itself is as dangerous as the enemies, with time and depth adding pressure to every move. Released in late 1988, this single-player title blends resource management with exploration. The dual-objective structure offers a mix of open-ended searching and puzzle-like challenges inside the ship. While its 8-bit graphics and simple mechanics feel dated by modern standards, the premise of scavenging a sunken vessel under time and threat constraints remains engaging for retro gaming fans. The inclusion of both external survival and internal puzzle elements gives it more depth than typical action titles of the era.
Despite all efforts to find the Titanic, it remained hidden beneath the cold waters of the North Atlantic ... until now. Professor R M Kenrick, marine archaeologist and researcher extraordinaire had at last found its resting place. As it was lying in a trench a mile below the surface he realised that no man could survive at such a depth using conventional equipment. His assistant's only chance of survival and success would be to wear a diving suit made from a special material invented by Professor Kenrick.
