Tom and Jerry in House Trap is a beat 'em up where one player controls Jerry, setting traps across a house to stop Tom. In single-player, a split-screen shows Jerry placing devices in one half while watching Tom’s reactions unfold in the other. If Tom gets too close, Jerry can summon Spike the dog to chase him off. Two-player mode lets one side play Tom, dodging traps while the other arranges them. Each of 15 rooms has distinct layouts and hidden weapons, with new areas unlocking as you advance. Objectives vary from damaging opponents to collecting rubber ducks and placing them in a pond. The split-screen design is the game’s strongest feature, blending strategy and chaos in one view. Rooms range from cluttered kitchens to garden settings, each with minor environmental puzzles. Released in 2000, it runs smoothly on PlayStation but feels dated by modern standards. The trap mechanics are repetitive after a while, though the split-screen co-op adds replay value. Community feedback is sparse, but it remains a niche pick for fans of direct, physical comedy-based fighting.
