Tony Hawk: Shred is a motion-controlled spin-off from the 2008 game Tony Hawk: Ride. It lets you perform skateboarding tricks using a special peripheral. The game adds snowboarding and lets you use Xbox Avatars or Wii Miis. It runs on PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii with single-player multiplayer and split-screen options. The game needed a special controller to work right. Some players liked the new snowboarding mode but others found the peripheral a hassle. It came out in October 2010. Split-screen mode is a nice touch but the reliance on extra hardware split opinions. Surprisingly the planned surfing mode didn’t make the cut.
