Total Carnage is a fast paced 90s shooter from Midway Games where you play as either Captain Carnage or Major Mayhem. Blast through enemies in levels like the Baby Milk Factory while hunting for keys to unlock Pleasure Domes. The game mixes chaotic gunplay with a story about stopping Orcus the Mother of All Bosses. Play alone or team up with a friend for co op action that lets you take turns as each character. Multiple platforms let you play from arcades to home systems. What stands out is the co op mode which was ahead of its time in 1991. The game hides secret areas and power ups that keep exploration fun. With DOS and Amiga ports it shows early cross platform efforts. While not a massive hit its mix of action and secrets has kept it in retro circles. The Baby Milk Factory level is particularly memorable for its over the top design.
