Touch My Katamari brings the sticky, rolling chaos of the Katamari Damacy series to PlayStation Vita. You guide a small orb through surreal environments, swiping the screen or using analog sticks to pick up bugs, buttons, and eventually cars. Each level tasks you with reaching a specific size goal by collecting increasingly larger objects. The controls adapt smoothly to touch input making it easy to play in short bursts. The pace is brisk and the challenges escalate quickly as your ball grows from a marble to something capable of swallowing buildings. The game leans hard into its absurd charm. The story involves a cosmic king’s fragile ego and a school principal which sounds exactly as ridiculous as it is. The Prince’s quest to rebuild the universe’s confidence plays out in levels filled with inventive set pieces and escalating scale. While it’s a straightforward entry in the series longtime fans appreciate the portable convenience and the sheer joy of watching a katamari gobble up a traffic cone. The whimsical world and escalating size shifts remain as satisfying as ever.

Storyline

Long ago, the King of All Cosmos brought light to the sky and replaced the stars of the universe, giving the people of Earth a beautiful portrait and a source of great inspiration. This, as you might imagine, made the King of All Cosmos tremendously popular. And he savored that popularity until a normal family -- in a discussion about the King's awesomeness -- mentioned that the King and the local school principal were equally cool. This horrified the King of All Cosmos. The King then confesses to his son The Prince, that he had been a bit lazy and that there was no wonder that Katamari Damacy fans were disappointed, he instructs The Prince to roll katamaris that the King can eat to make the "cosmic belly" fit once more
