As you progress you help restore a decaying city by managing guilds and crafting new gear to strengthen your party. Each tower run reshapes the world slightly creating a feeling of forward momentum even as the challenges stay fresh. The game leans into its roguelike roots with randomized encounters and permadeath stakes but softens them with a city building element that persists across playthroughs.
