Triad Wars is an open world MMO that mixes shooting, strategy and street-level chaos. Inspired by the mechanics of Sleeping Dogs you build a character lead a gang and battle for control of Hong Kong’s underworld. Combat driving and heists blend action with base-building and resource management as you carve out territory and climb the triad ranks. The game emphasizes player-driven stories with no fixed plot letting you shape your crew’s reputation through choices and conflicts. Released in early 2016 the game closed just weeks later but left a niche mark for its free-to-play model and hybrid gameplay. While its short lifespan limited long-term impact some players praised the flexibility of creating and customizing gangs in a Hong Kong setting. The mix of fast-paced shooting and slower strategic planning didn’t resonate with everyone but offered a distinct take on open world brawls.
