About

Trigger is a 1989 light gun shooter from Opera Soft that turns urban survival into a chaotic arcade challenge. Designed for DOS and budget systems like the ZX Spectrum, it tasks you with blasting criminals in Crazy Park while avoiding accidental collateral damage. Innocent bystanders count as point penalties, adding tension to every shot. Power-ups like machine guns and limited-time free-fire rounds spice up the action. A split-screen multiplayer mode lets two players battle for the highest score in a frantic test of aim and reflexes. The game stands out for its sharp penalty system, misfire and you watch your score crumble, a rare mechanic in shooters of the era. Its absurd story about a park visit gone wrong feels more like a post-apocalyptic joke than a narrative, but the garish 80s aesthetic and frantic pacing hold up. With its focus on precision over chaos, Trigger carved a niche among retro shooters, though its reliance on a now-rare light gun peripheral keeps it firmly in cult status.

Storyline

That Sunday, tired of watching video and television, I had the not so great idea of taking a walk in CRAZY PARK, near my apartment, I had already been warned: It is a dangerous place, but I always thought it was just hearsay. I will never forget the state in which I arrived home, without three molars and eight teeth, without my engagement ring, without my leather jacket, of course without my money and thanks to the bologna sandwich I had in my shirt pocket, which miraculously lodged the bullet of someone I had never seen in my life. I didn't wait any longer, the next day I signed up for an ELITE SHOOTING course by correspondence, and three months later I went to a friend's store to buy a pistol, and since he was a friend he gave me a 15% discount. So, today, I feel safer walking around CRAZY PARK. This is my case, if I were you I would think about going for a walk or walking the dog in such a place without an automatic pistol, but you know, everyone can do what they want.
