Triple Play 2000 is a baseball simulation game from 1999 that puts control in your hands. Developed by Treyarch and published by EA Sports, it lets you manage every swing and slide across PC, Nintendo 64, or PlayStation. The one-button baserunning keeps the action moving while the Home Run Challenge mode turns long-ball contests into quick bursts of fun. Adjust your swing to maximize power or contact and feel the tension of every at-bat. For its time the game impressed with smooth real-time lighting and detailed facial expressions that gave players a more lifelike feel. The split-screen mode lets two players clash in the same ballpark making it a solid choice for couch co-op. While the 1999 release had some technical hiccups on older systems the fast-paced action held up well against other sports games of the year.
