Trism is a puzzle game for iPhone that uses the device's motion sensors to let you slide triangular tiles around a grid. Your goal is to align three or more of the same color. When a match forms the tiles disappear and new ones fall into place depending on how you're tilting the phone. The shifting layout keeps each move unpredictable and the challenge ramps up as the board fills with tricky arrangements. The game launched in late 2007 and became a surprise hit partly because the developer went from obscurity to success in a big way. Its clever use of motion controls felt novel at the time, turning casual tilting into a core gameplay mechanic. Players appreciated the tight match-3 logic paired with the physical interaction of moving the phone. It remains a solid example of early iPhone innovation.
