About True Love For Her

True Love For Her is a niche simulator game that mixes real-time strategy with visual novel storytelling. Developed by Ayano Dev and released in 2026, it follows Kurai Hana, a socially isolated high schooler who becomes obsessively fixated on a girl named Delena. The story shifts from quiet isolation to violent escalation as Kurai targets Delena’s bullies to clear the path for a romantic confession. It plays like a psychological thriller with mechanics focused on stealthy sabotage and direct confrontation. Available on PC, mobile, and priced around $19.99, it’s a short, punchy experience aimed at fans of dark, character-driven narratives. The game’s tone is deliberately unsettling, blending high school drama with gory consequences.

Gameplay

Each session revolves around planning and executing eliminations while managing Kurai’s mental state. You use a top-down camera to navigate school environments, snatching classmates into alleys for quick kills or luring them into traps. The real-time strategy element involves timing actions to avoid suspicion, like cleaning up bloodstains before staff notice. Visual novel segments insert branching dialogue choices that subtly shift Kurai’s obsession level. Sessions typically last 15, 30 minutes, with a focus on quick, tense decisions. Controls are simple on mobile, but the PC version adds keyboard shortcuts for precision. The gameplay loop balances stealth, direct violence, and narrative progression, though the lack of save points can frustrate.

What Players Think

PlayPile users rate it 7.2/10, with 42% completing the main story. Average playtime is 8 hours, and 68% of players unlock 50+ achievements. Community moods are split: 35% intrigued, 25% disturbed, 20% annoyed, 15% indifferent, and 5% excited. Reviews highlight the game’s “gripping but unsettling” narrative and “unconventional blend of genres.” Critics note it lacks polish, with repetitive missions and underdeveloped characters. Mobile performance is uneven, with 40% reporting frame drops. Despite its controversial themes, 30% of players say the story’s emotional beats feel “unexpectedly impactful.” The achievement system, including 12 “clean kill” milestones, adds replayability for completionists.

PlayPile's Take

True Love For Her is a polarizing experiment in dark storytelling. It works best for players who enjoy morally ambiguous narratives and don’t mind a short, intense experience. The $19.99 price tag is fair for the content, and the 50+ achievements provide extra incentive. However, the simplistic gameplay loop and lack of multiplayer make it a niche pick. If you’re into edgy, character-driven stories and can stomach the violent themes, it’s worth the gamble. For most, though, it’s a one-and-done experience with little long-term appeal.

Storyline

The protagonist you play as is Kurai Hana, a young high schooler. Since her early years, she has never interacted with any friends in school, leading her to believe that she is like a non-existent ghost due to the lack of interaction with other kids. However, when she starts high school, things remain the same until one day when she accidentally crashes into a person, a girl named Delena. Over four months of talking to Delena, everything changes for Kurai Hana as she begins to realize she’s no longer a ghost. One day, while walking through the school corridors, Kurai Hana witnesses people bullying Delena. Now, her objective is to get rid of these horrible individuals each week until she can confess her love to Delena without any distractions between them.
