Two Heads of the Coin casts you as a sharp-witted Victorian detective aided by a reluctant sidekick. Your client a troubled husband claims his wife vanished two weeks ago. Through typed questions you piece together their strained marriage financial secrets and hidden relationships. Each choice branches the story toward different outcomes as you weigh alibis motives and suspicious neighbors. The lack of graphics forces you to visualize settings and characters based on sparse descriptions and shifting dialogue. Released in 1980 this TRS-80 title is one of the earliest examples of decision-driven narratives. With no score or timer the focus stays on figuring out a layered mystery through careful listening. Players who enjoy methodical deduction over action will appreciate the slow burn of clues and the weight of every question asked. The game’s age shows in its minimal hints but its core loop of talking and guessing remains satisfyingly brisk.
