Two Strikes is a 2D fighting game set during Japan’s violent Sengoku Period. Players choose from three combatants, a samurai, a warrior monk, or an outlaw, and battle in quick, high-stakes duels. The core loop hinges on timing and precision, with each match forcing you to balance offense and defense. Win not by outlasting but by outthinking, as missteps lead to instant downfalls. The game offers single-player challenges and multiplayer modes, letting you test skills against human opponents. The hand-drawn art style stands out, with fluid animations that make every punch and slash feel visceral. The tournament’s macabre premise, dead warriors fighting for a chance to return to life, adds dark flair without slowing the action. While the story mode leans into historical chaos, the real hook is the punchy combat. With release scheduled for mid-2025, early access chatter on forums hints at a title that’s rough around edges but already packs a memorable punch.
Japan, 1568 - Oda Nobunaga's troops march on Kyoto leaving behind a trail of blood in what will be known as the Sengoku Period. Samurai, warrior monks, outlaws and peasants, caught up in the maelstrom of violence, had no choice but to take up arms and fight, and after every battle, kill or be killed. At this point, the Shinigami, the God of Death saw his work done for him; men and women delivering the Final Punishment of Death everywhere, yet only a few truly embodied the Slaughter, those whose lust for Vengeance not even hell could kill. And so the Tournament was born; those souls who died wishing to continue dispensing murder were reunited, and one last chance was granted to them. To win and return to earth once more to continue unleashing the carnage, to become the next Champion of the God of Death. Welcome to Two Strikes!
