Uggies Garden is a competitive maze game designed for one or two players. On the BBC Microcomputer, players navigate separate sections of the screen, with the first taking the top half and the second the bottom. The goal is to collect items and outmaneuver opponents while avoiding obstacles. Simple controls and tight pacing make it easy to pick up but tricky to master. The split screen format was a clever use of hardware limitations in 1990, allowing local multiplayer on a single system. While the visuals and sound are basic by today’s standards, the straightforward action remains engaging for quick sessions. Retro gaming fans might appreciate its no frills approach to arcade style competition.
