About

Ultraman Ball is a 1994 Game Boy platformer where you control Ultraman, who can switch between bipedal and ball forms. In bipedal mode he climbs walls by repeatedly jumping. As a ball he rolls over enemies builds speed on slopes and bounces to reach higher platforms. Players alternate between these abilities to navigate stages solve obstacles and rescue Ultraman’s allies. The controls feel tight with responsive jumps and smooth transitions between forms. The dual-form gameplay is the main hook letting players approach challenges in multiple ways. Some sections require careful wall-jumping while others demand fast rolling to reach distant areas. Though the 2D levels are straightforward the mix of movement options adds depth. With 40 stages and a focus on timing it’s a brisk but satisfying retro experience. Nostalgic presentation and solid level design keep it engaging for platforming fans.

Storyline

In his standard bipedal form, Ultraman is able to cling onto walls and climb up them by repeatedly jumping. As the ball, Ultraman can bowl over enemies and build speed on slopes to help him reach new areas. He can also bounce, which also increases his vertical height. By combining these powers, the player can progress through each stage.
