About

Unbound: Worlds Apart is a 2D puzzle-platformer where you control Soli, a young mage navigating shattered realities using portals that twist physics and environment. Each portal swaps gravity, reverses movement, or alters object states, forcing creative solutions to cross crumbling landscapes. The game blends hand-drawn animation with a stark color palette, pairing whimsical character designs against bleak, fractured backdrops. Combat is minimal, replaced by environmental puzzles that require testing portal combinations to unlock paths. The story unfolds through sparse dialogue and environmental storytelling, tracing Soli’s journey to fix a cosmic sickness splitting his universe. The game’s standout is its portal mechanic, which feels intuitive yet deeply flexible. Players on PC and consoles praise the way shifting physics create “aha!” moments without frustrating trial-and-error. With 10-12 hours of main story and optional collectibles, it’s a mid-length adventure that prioritizes clever level design over combat. The art style draws comparisons to Studio Ghibli’s darker works, though its charm may wear thin during repetitive platforming sections. Still, the sense of wonder from reconfiguring worlds keeps the experience engaging.

Storyline

Unbound is set in a universe of magic and mystery, where Mages once traveled between distant worlds using portals. When an ancient sickness threatens the future of the multi-verse, a gifted child named Soli must embrace his unique gift and bring peace to the worlds apart.
