About

UnHumanize is a thought-provoking visual novel with puzzle elements set in a near-future world where tiny robots called Pibots are injected at birth to eliminate disease. You follow multiple characters whose lives intersect with this technology, making choices that shape their paths. The puzzles involve adjusting sequences to optimize the robots’ functions, though the core experience leans into dialogue-driven storytelling. The narrative unfolds across decades, blending personal dramas with broader ethical questions about humanity’s reliance on automation. The game stands out for its layered script and willingness to linger on moral gray areas rather than offering easy answers. While puzzle variety is limited, the branching storylines and philosophical tone have earned praise from indie-focused communities. With over 80 unique endings reported, it challenges players to weigh progress against the loss of natural human experience. The minimalist art style and contemplative pacing make it a slow burn, but the questions it raises about fate and free will stick around long after the credits.

Storyline

In the late years of the second millennium, humanity experienced a remarkable surge in technological advancements, particularly in the automation of machines and software. In the year 2055, DFTech Co. introduced a revolutionary product known as Picobot. This pico-sized robot, developed by a leading corporation in the field of advanced medical equipment, combines cutting-edge technology with medical expertise. With complete automation and AI integration, Picobot II is able to effectively prevent diseases from their early stages, without the need for human intervention. In the 2100s, a vast majority of the population received the Picobot II injection from birth, aiming to achieve a life free from diseases and extend their lifespan. Is Picobot a flawless solution that can assist humans in bypassing the laws of natural selection? Or is humanity taking a huge, daring risk by depending on technology to combat "fate"?
